I was always too cheap to buy a caving suit and my girlfriend found me the Petzl SUD on ebay and it changed my caving experience. You can see one at:

Since it is a Polyurethane coated nylon fabric, it doesn't hold water and is pretty tough. I find that in rugged caves it protects me from the sharp stone better. Also since it is durable, I can climb better by using more body friction without feeling the pain or pinch I did in jeans and a sweatshirt. I'll still cave without it but I miss it when I do.
