It doesn't show up well but the crack in the foreground goes through a drilled hole that once supported a Petzl L1 bracket. The crack from the hammer blow terminates at the crack from the airplane flight. Interesting that the catastrophic failure/major cracking ends at one of the other ventilation holes.
