For those who are enlightened enough to use carbide caplamps, which brand do you use for caving? Don't count the $500+ model on the shelf, unless you actually take it caving

Okay, what are the "others" that have been so popular?
Personally, I'm quite fond of my Mike Lite.

Ok...I'll chime in here. When I started caving we would borrow old Just Rites from the Ball State U's geology department cache. Once we had refurbished a few of them (they were in terrible need of a little TLC) they were great. Later on I bought a Premier and it served me quite well untill I went electric and sold it.
At about the same time I bought a Butterfly and it never worked right. Always spitting, sputtering and leaking somewhere no mater what I tried. After some twenty years, I still own it thinking I'll use it for a hood ornament on my vehicle sometime.
My limited experience puts the old Just Rite first with the Premier comming in at a close second. I sure wish I coulda kept one of those Just Rites!
