Smart paper should make cave mapping a lot easier too. There's some really cool stuff just over the tech horizon.

I have got glowing cord from REI: http://www.rei.com/online/store/Product ... REI_SEARCH . I used it as pack tether, and it was glowing for a while. Then it got all covered with mud and that was it. No more shiny "ahh ohh" devices for me.

I think the best use of glowing reflective cordage is for tent and tarp guy lines. PMI makes this as well, called NiteLine. (IMO and REI both sell it) Really reduces nighttime tripping around the campsite! :kewl:
