Costs for good caving gloves or just good work gloves arent that high at your regualr retail outlets, but this company has some pretty good deals. They have some bulk pricing too so it might be something to a grotto might be interested in if everyone pooled together. Might be able to get a pretty good deal on some cool caving gloves in bulk especially.

I've been purchasing gloves (cheap) at the local flea market (Traders World) and the work great. Inexpensive and relatively tough, they are constructed of poly/cotton blend with the palms being texturized. Some have a patterned texture and others are completely covered, however the patterned texture works best for me, since my hands do not overheat as much.

Certainly worth exploring. I just use jersey type gloves to keep the mud off. Cold is not a problem, so I do not care about being wet.

The best gloves I've ever used cost $1.88 at Walmart.
Lycra back, rubber palm, snug, easily washed, don't stretch when wet.
You'll find them in the fishing section.
