Raspberry Pi

I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone who was using the Raspberry Pi for cave diving applications. More specifically I was wondering if anyone had tried using it for a mapping or rebreather application. I've created a couple rebreathers in the past. I was thinking of making a new one and using the Raspberry Pi as a controller module or to use it for simulation purposes.

I'm curious, is there a reason you've selected Raspi specifically? Are there any benefits to using this platform over a different platform. There are some upsides to a Raspi, but there are also some downsides. Boot time is fairly long for one of these devices. Also, they are more difficult to put into a power saving sleep mode. Additionally, they take a lot of power to operate. STM32 and ATmega chips are slower and won't run a full computer, but they have better battery life, sleep mode, price, and boot time.

So I'd love to hear more about how much power you need for your project.
