In trying to decide what light I want to invest in. I am concerned about the IPX ratings for water resistance. What rating should I look for to be repelling or climbing in waterfalls or caving in very wet envirionments?

Beyond the IPX rating you have to consider whether the light will leak when it is struck hard by a rock. That's how I lost my last Apex was hitting a rock while it was wet which let water in passed the gasket.

Additionally, please take extra care while rappelling in waterfalls. http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=236146

Thanks Phil for the great chart. I had looked at another chart that I found but it was kind of vague in it's descriptions. The chart you referred me to answered my questions completely. I made my decision and can't wait to get the new light on and feel like I can actually see what's going on around me. I will be graduating from a Black Diamond Icon.....I'm excited......
