The Basic, Croll and Pantin all get stainless steel cams vs the current chrome steel.

Technically all of this was released early. It was not supposed to go public in the US until after the Summer Market in mid August. There are still some secrets though.

Wow, this is great news. Doug, I take it that the new rounded top on the Basic is specifically for hand comfort when used as an upper ascender?

Interesting info. Sounds good, at least on paper. If only trading-up to a more lightweight ascender meant less money instead of more... :big grin:

Ooh. Cool about the SS plates and cams. I thought for sure that would make them heavier. How DID they do that? Not like the weight would matter to me, it's a better, more durable design. Seems worth the upgrade. Fortunately I've got 2 crolls right now, so I can hold till 2013 to replace them.
