The light was great in the tubes, man do they eat light. Did you ever get to try a Moddoo triple?

Thoughts on what it would take for my wifes light?

Nice! I want to try lava tubes one day.

I tried the Moddoo and ran into a couple of things. First, only the smallest of the triples will fit (there is always some machining over or under; if his is under and mine is over, they fit), but they are only off by 7 thousandths of an inch. Very frustrating. I do have a couple of heads I rebored for larger drop-ins. The second thing I noticed is that, though they produce a LOT of light, there is no real hotspot. They don't throw as well as the single emitter drop-ins do.

If you want a head that will accommodate a Moddoo triple, I can make one for you. If you want to swap the one you have out for one of the rebores, that's possible too.

(In the spirit of honesty: my dear father used period tools to reconstruct the leather sometime in the 1990's and there are modern rivets and a modern snap on there somewhere now, but I believe the blade mount bracket is original and antique!)
