Ryan, will you attend the Cave-In, and if yes, will you have your H600? I'd really like to see it in person...

Lilian confirms that you can pre-order in a few days.

Unfortunately, no. Wait a second... who said I would be buying this light anyway? : ) I guess I have been praising the H600 and 500CW a lot lately...

Just like the 500CW/460NW, I'm going to advertise it to let people know it's something potentially worth buying and wait for people to buy it and review it. Perhaps a Candlepowerforum person will produce an adequate review before I need to start begging. : ) I want the BEST light for my $100, and the only way to know for sure is to let other people test a light out before I buy it myself. What I'm trying to avoid is buying a light and finding myself wishing I had bought another instead. I really hate that feeling. I'm certain it'll be an equally awesome light like the Sparks have proved to be, but the question I'm waiting for someone else to answer is: will it be even better?? It is $10 cheaper than the Spark, so at least it has that going for it already. Heat management, verified runtimes and beam profile are the three main things I'll be looking for.

Ha! In your posts, you sound really hungry for a H600! I figured you would get one ASAP. I want one, too - wow - 750 lumens! I wonder how front heavy both would feel on my helmet? Probably no worse than a Wheat Lamp and much better than an Autolite...

The big negative for me would be the inability to make it a flood, which is so easy with the Spark.

Man... that is one slippery-ass slope you're standing on. Because the technology is moving by leaps and bounds. At some point, you just have to ring the bell to tell the bus driver to stop, and not worry about whether you got off at the wrong time. The technology bus always moves on, anyway. :sorry:

Good luck!

Thanks! I hope I make the right choice. I'd like to think I've done enough research these past two months to not be completely blindsided by the emergence of a new light, from these two manufacturers or otherwise. In other words, I am rather confident that the 500CW and H600 are currently the best two lights for my preferences and spending limit, and that there is a good chance this will remain the case for many months to come, perhaps longer. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong, and I'll just deal with it. However, I at least want to wait for the H600 to come out so that I can make a informed and confident decision. If the H600 still had another six months or something to come out, yeah, I'd fully agree with you and I would have already bought the 500CW by now.

I want to ring the bell, but the bus driver won't let me. :big grin:

You are now able to preorder the H600. Est. shipping date of Oct. 21. I will conduct a runtime comparison (with Excel) against the Spark next week.

Does anyone have this light yet? If so, please let me know... would love to hear what you have to say about it.

Nope. No one has this one yet. It was set for release on the 21st, but they've pushed it back to the 31st now.

The H600 is the one I'm more interested in (the 460NW being the other, and it took me weeks to make my choice  ), but I'm still waiting for reviews which will be a week or two after people start getting them. There will also be people on CPF.com to ask specific questions. My main concerns that prevent me from preordering right now are unexpected quality issues (it's happened with ZL in the past) and maximum acceptable 18650 length (cheap yet good batteries will be harder to find if the H600 won't take anything over 67mm).

The main selling points for me are a substantially higher maximum output, a head-scratching superior runtime at the 400 lumen range compared to a 460NW, a slightly lighter body, $10 cheaper, and substantially more output levels. The 500CW/460NW has its own selling points, but the only ones I think are worth noting are a more accessible emitter (good for easy future LED upgrades) and a neutral white option (a color which I must admit I prefer).

Dang. Working on something, and I want/need some H600 assistance (preferably not from the manufacturer). Oh well...

Thanks,

W00T!!!! PLEASE let us know how you like it once you get it!!! I think you'll be just as pleased as you are with your Spark. Supposedly, the H600 is brighter and lighter if you can believe that.

I'm holding out for the upcoming neutral white version. Hopefully the wait isn't too long.

Please let us know how the batteries you use in your Spark fit in your H600. There is some concern that the battery comparment is a little on the short side and may not accept many button top 18650s. You use Solarforces from SBFlashlight, don't you?

I only have 2 of those solarforce lights, but was thinking about getting half a dozen panasonic's from amazon.com that Marduke said were good.

My first trip that I go on, if it comes in on time, is bit bouncing in TAG on MLK weekend, so I will have the opportunity to light up some big stuff with them both. I plan on using both on the front and ditching my fenix that i also have on my helmet.

I hope the batteries do fit. I dont think the zebra takes 2 CR123's like the spark does and I have 10 of those i bought for a buck each from a battery store up the road. I also need to get a good 18650 charger like my lacrosse bc900 charger for AA's

I may go on a couple other trips here in missouri over xmas and ill be able to take a couple photos if I do to see the difference in beams between the spark and the zebra.

Mine was supposed to arrive on Dec. 3rd. I got the USPS tracking info and everything...

No light.

I doubt it's Zebralight's fault, but goddammit! :mad2:
