Definitely seeing some patterns here. Nice lights!

Out of curiosity, does anyone use any of these:
Ledlampe IV (http://www.spelemat.com/ledlampe/LedLampe_IV_en.htm)
Petzl Ultra (http://www.petzl.com/en/outdoor/headlamps/ultra-powerful)
Viper (http://www.vipercave.com/index.php)
Any bike light that (in your opinion) works well as a cave light
Any caving oriented light not previously mentioned

Thanks!

I've been using a Petzl MYO-RXP as my main, with a Tikka Plus as an on helmet backup.... with anther MYO-XP in my pack (and 2 hand held lights, just to be safe). No complaints so far.

It's changed!

Primary: PT Apex (200 lumens)
Secondary: PT Corona (90 lumens)

That's pretty much what I'm sporting. I use the larger 5Ah Sten battery and I have a couple PT Pilot lights for illuminating survey stations.

Now i have a Petzl Explorer. I modified its DUO with Cree Q5 leds and taped my Apex near DUO

Petzl Duo modified with "Custom Duo" dropins, which are totally awesome BTW. I've modified five other friends' Duo's after having seen mine. I recently upgraded mine to a neutral tint for increased awesomeness. :kewl:

I've heard very good things about those drop-ins. If I had an old Duo, there's no question that I'd purchase a drop-in for it.

I love my apex even more now with the rechargables in it :woohoo: but yeah, if i find an old duo I'm getting it and modding it. I was *so close* this last weekend, Mark was all "Oh I had a crappy old Duo I just threw out few weeks ago". :yikes:  damn.

Marduke, I am glad to see that you got a custom duo. I have been banging that drum for a long time on this forum. I have always felt the duo was ( and still is) one of the best caving lights. Is it as good as a 375 dollar sten or other high end lights? No, but I know alot of people were using a Duo then figured out it was not bright enough and set them aside and got a brighter apex. These people ended up with a brighter light but I feel a light not as cave worthy as a duo.If you already own the duo all you have to do is get a custom duo and you have a cave worthy light that was made for caving from the drawing board up with a current generation efficient (much more so than the apex) cree bulb. I knew sooner or later someone would come out with a modern bulb for the duo. My custom duo goes to 340 lumen with eneloops and with regular duracell goes as bright as the Fennix HP-10.BUT, this custom duo gives you spot and glow at the same time, with the apex you get one or the other. With the HP-10 you get just the spot, with the CD1003 you get the spot and glow on one side with the CD insert plus can also have the 3 settings on the other 14 insert ( that most of you already have) on the other side of the light .What that means is some redundancy that you cannot get with any other light I am aware of at any price. I like most people already had the duo and the 14 insert so I spent about 80 bucks and kept the other 300 in my pocket.
It only takes one person to surrender a dog to a kill shelter ,but it takes many to rescue it.
