I put 2 grommits in my TAG pack due to the river cave im mapping. After each of the 10 crawlways to the end of survey, i was opening the top of the pack each time to drain water out, and it got old fast. The drain holes were a god send till we found a new entrance and I had to start using a swaygo, or risk shredding my TAG pack after only a few trips.

I find that the only purpose drain holes serve in a pack is to let water in when you partially or fully submerge the pack, and then get blocked by the contents of the pack and not drain the water once the pack is no longer submerged.

never had a problem with water draining out after filling up in water crawls. You must pack your pack with trash bags ehh ;)

Drain holes, trash bags, packs filling with water, etc. I don't understand. This is a foreign concept to me. :big grin: :tonguecheek:

hehe dont worry, i use my swaygo mroe than my LCP, but many caves around here aren't th kind you want to wear a back pack style pack in. being able to sling a LCP to the side or front is a life saver.
