Cavemud, I took your idea and may have gone overboard by cutting off the bottom portion of the canister. Now the undiffused pattern is pear-shaped and it seems there is less light being diffused down? So it’s reverse of what I was expecting.

:big grin: I'll post pics of the slots when I'm thru experimenting. I'm currently busy cutting, slicing, dicing, taping, coloring... :laughing: ...this diffuser game is getting fun!

yeah, i've even tried a ping-pong ball but no way to lock it in like the canister and it gives a yellowish cast (the white ones not the yellow ones).

James, the Fenix I got Xmas 2009 and the Petzl Xmas 2010. Taking these photos are fun too, here's another POV:
