Cavemud, I took your idea and may have gone overboard by cutting off the bottom portion of the canister. Now the undiffused pattern is pear-shaped and it seems there is less light being diffused down? So it’s reverse of what I was expecting.

I'll post pics of the slots when I'm thru experimenting. I'm currently busy cutting, slicing, dicing, taping, coloring... ...this diffuser game is getting fun!

Pub are those new lights? they look too clean.

yeah, i've even tried a ping-pong ball but no way to lock it in like the canister and it gives a yellowish cast (the white ones not the yellow ones).
