Country in the Country Club
Posted: Nov 18, 2006 11:08 amI had a friend that upon retirement, moved into one of the more upscale golf and country club communities in the area.
He isn't imposing, and has a very dry sense of humor, and while he and his wife have been very fortunate, it is the result of hard, honest work and they are rightfully reaping the rewards. But they are still good 'ol country folks at heart, and perhaps somewhat old-fashioned.
He is a golf fanatic, and he was telling one of his many tales one day.
Someone asked if he ever played tennis or took a dip in the pool at the clubhouse.
He said, "Oh no, my wife won't let me."
"How come?", the new guy said.
"Well, she is embarrased for me to go down there."
"How come?"
"Because she's afraid the neighbors will see that I have a hole in the knee of my swimsuit".
I guess you had to be there!
