I just turned 50 :yikes: so it was time to do something I had waited 33 years to do. Video three is the "jump."

Image

Each video is no more than 90 seconds long.

This is the first of four short video clips. In this clip the videographer (Sandy) interviews me moments before takeoff. A coworker of mine, Jamie, is in the orange jumpsuit in the background.

This is the 2nd of four short video clips. In this clip the videographer (Sandy) follows me onto the plane and we take off heading to 14,000 feet.

This is the 3rd of 4 clips. In this clip we leave our seat, get in the door, jump out of the plane from 14,000 feet and then freefall for about 42 seconds until the rip cord is pulled. Video shot by Sandy. Can you tell what I say to the camera? And watch for the other skydiver float by!

You can see the airport once the photographer flashes the peace sign. I will then land (red canopy). The rainbow canopy included my co-worker, Jamie.

That's awesome Scott! My work has blocked videos, but I have something to look forward to looking at when I get home.

As for me... ain't no way I'm jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Heck I don't even like to fly!

Hey Scott.......I can see paragliding in your future. The 2011 NSS convention will be offering special deals on paragliding .........as our campground is normally used as a landing site for a paragliding operation. Just think....you can paraglide to your tent from the howdy party!!! :kewl:

Check out the photo gallery in the link about to see a birds eye view of the Glenwood area. :woohoo:

Glad you had a good time, Scott. Great videos, especially the freefall part!

I also did a couple of static line jumps back when I was 17. I remember how much freaky fun it was with a bunch of school friends. Eight years later I jumped another 10 times, but that was a whole different ballgame and was hard work (military). I was sore for weeks! Night jumps are awesome, but water jumps I could live without. Never had the monkey strapped to my back, but I guess that must be a freefall thing.

:kewl: I am all over that. I did the hang-gliding thing for 40 so this is PERFECT for our Colorado trip. I will definately be doing that. Maybe I buzz groad hollow and get some up close photos? :yikes:  :big grin:  :yikes:
