PPS: fuel here is nudging AU$1.50 a litre, which makes it (1.5 x 3.78 = AU$5.67/gallon) which as far as I can see makes us about $2 a gallon dearer than you guys are paying (the AU$ is about 90 ish US cents ) so not a huge difference there...
How about GBP1.17 per litre for diesel which will be 1.17 x 3.78 = GBP 4.42 a gallon or about US$8.80 a gallon here in the UK? And over 70% of that is tax! Luckily I have a Nissan X-Trail diesel which usually gives me 40+mpg.
