My in-laws are celebrating their 50th anniversary in Chattanooga, the same place where they had their honeymoon. We're going to drive up and take them to dinner. Can anyone recommend a top-knotch restaurant in Chattanooga or nearby?

The only restaurant I've ever been to in Chatty is Hooters. It must be good, I keep going back again and again.

over by the tenn aquairum was this place called The Easy Seafood Co. I thought it was yummy. I thought it was alittle bit better than just cusual dinning, and the place looked nice inside. The wait staff was friendly, the manager was great, and the food was very good. http://easyseafood.com/ie/

you could go to the aquairum and then walk across the street to there.

heheh Scott you're just going to Hooters for the scenery!! :woohoo: I think my father in-law and I would enjoy it, but not sure about our brides...

Wendy I think I've driven past that place, so I'll check into it.

(we're hoping to get in some caving too when we send the elder love-birds back to their hotel) :caver:

oh I forgot about Big River - we ate there once when we were attending some beer festival there. That place is a little noisy, but the food was great. Thanks for reminding me!

I wouldn't say any of the following restaurants are extraordinarily upscale, but if you think Big River is a contestant then these would also be qualifiers:

-Seafood: Boathouse on the Amnicola HWY (it's on the Riverwalk).
-American Italian: Tony's Pasta Shop in the art district (Bluff View).
-Japanese: Mikado on Lee Hwy by Hamilton Place
-Japanese: Hiroshi's on Main St.
-Chinese: Formosa in Hixson on HWY 153
-Indian: Sitar on Lee Hwy at HWY 153
-Tapas: Terra Nostra in the North Shore (more upscale)

I hear Porter's Steakhouse is good at the Sheraton Read House if you want to spend about $20 per plate. I also hear that the Southside Grill on Cowart St. is pretty good too.

I realize that this post is, oh, a year late, but I thought I'd add anyways. Hennen's is probably the nicest restaurant downtown. It's certainly the most expensive. St. John's is a close second. Table 2 and 212 Market are also fairly nice. Foodworks is also pretty good.

Can you tell me if Hennen's is expensive and what type of food do they offer?
Thank you in advance!!

Sure, it's real cheap. They offer an amazing variety of Spam. Spam omlets, Spam wraps, Spam loaf, Spam salad, Spamaroni and an incredible open-face Spamwich. You should totally go.
