funny site at work last night

Postby wendy » Jun 22, 2007 6:28 pm

Last night at work we got a call of a raccoon on a porch with a tin can on its head. So the officer gets there and the raccoon is on a porch that's gated and padlocked shut (house closed up during summer break). I get there cuz it sounds interesting and I know some of the guys can be less than helpful to animals(plus it isn't really there job). So we get the gate open, and me and the guy that called bout the raccoon get to work (none of the officers there would help). I get out my winter coat I had in my truck and I glove up. The guy grabbed the raccoon in my coat and pinned it down while I tried to pull the can off, it was wedged tight with one ear sticking out. So after some thought and seaching threw my truck i find some wire cutters. Thinking that cutting a hole in the bottom might release the suction, i get to work, but its on there good. So I proceed to cut the can off from the bottom up (the rim was too hard to start at the top, plus there is that little inner rim, which is what his head was caught on). We get the can off and the happy, and now freed, raccoon ran off into the trees. He looks big in this picture, but he was actually a little guy.

What was in the can? Peaches? Baked beans?

Nice work, Wendy!
