Nice thought, but I personally think the prize should go instead to our earliest posters (from this time last year) when the current forum went online. SquirrelGirl, Phil Winkler, Wendy, Scott McCrea, mgMills, Kvart, hewhocaves, Scott Shaw, Mike Hood and Darklight are among those who registered a year ago today and are still posting away...

It's going to be tough trying to figure out who the 1,000th registered user is because of all the spam bot registrations we've been getting lately. They are deleted as quickly as they are found, so the exact 1,000th may not be a legit registration. It seems the more popular a forum becomes, the more spam posts it attracts.

Goodbye Atlas33, who was our latest spam registrant. Googling that username pulls up a host of drug-related posts on other sites.

Wayne, I have the same problem with the spammers, there are some easy solutions, like for example to make the registration form via flash(swish) and php (or asp), or even more simple to make the link to the registration form to be in a small link in flash, etc. I haven't done this to my site yet but when i'll find the time it's one of the first things i'll do.

I could make instantly this registration-link in flash for the NSS forum if you wish, but first you should change the address of the link.
