Going to my first Grotto meeting Wednesday. I am excited.

I know a few people that belong to grottos but those grottos are out of state.

I am ready to become active.

I am really excited about this new adventure.

Which one are you going to?

Just don't expect too much. Most meetings that I have been to are pretty boring for first timers. Unless there is a really cool presentation or program, it will probably be mostly trip report/plans and other grotto biz. But then you can socialize and talk caving. So hang in there and remember they are not entertainers, just cavers. Have fun!

Scott pretty much summed it up. I would also suggest you attend any pre or post meeting activities as that is typically where you have a chance to really meet the grotto members.

I agree with Scott about what Scott said.

I had a great time.

I got to meet some interesting people, many of them multi hobbie people like skydiving and such.

I am between two different grottos and going to decide wich one to join.

I get to be a speaker at the 50th anniversery thing for the grotto as well.
I hope I don't bore them to much with talk about reglation circuits and such and the importance of overdischarge protection on some battery packs.

They had a raffle, I made a donation to the next raffle that I think will go over well. I contributed a full Stenlight package.

I hope it raises them a bit of cash.

My first thing I will be doing is trying to help with a cave clean up. We are going to try and remove spray paint from a cave.
