...and look over some of these posts, I'm sad I can't be sitting here with you discussing it in person. I'm NOT a writer! I can sit and chat with the best of them though. :big grin: Seriously, I'd love to be able to cave with and socialize with many here on the forum. I can communicate much better in person than trying to type it and show emotion. Gotta love the smilies! Some are good with the printed word. I'm better with face to face, look ya in the eye conversation! :waving: I have met several of you since I got on board here a few years ago. I do hope to meet more of you in the future!

I want to meet you, Cavemud!

I now dub this the "sitting in the warm den after a full day of caving chatting with friends and drinking" thread. We can make up the most awesome cave ever we just visited.

I mean, that 2 mile hike through the woods up the mountain was a bit rough but man it was so worth it once we got to that entrance - waterfall pouring right out of the entrance into a 150 foot pit! Can you believe it? I've never seen anything like that.

...pretend we are having a conversation after a day of caving in the most awesome cave EVER.
So we basically make it all up. It's a fake conversation. For all of us who wish we could be caving!

...I thought it was a good idea anyway. Use your IMAGINATION!!!!

 I still don't get it. Start a new thread for the imaginary cave trip?

I'm sure I've hijacked a thread or two in the past...or at least derailed them!

I like this idea. What is at the bottom of the pit?

speleo - well it was rather wet down there with the water and all - but there was another hole that it poured into! We didn't have enough rope to rig it though :( However at the top of the waterfall since it was c oming out the entrance of a cave, that we went into some. THe first long ways was really just yuck - crawling in cold water, sometimes needing to slide through areas on your back to be able to breathe still. A few times we thought it would turn into a sump but we made it! All of a sudden it opened up into a huge room (compartively, at least) was maybe 50 ft dome ceiling and covered with curtains/draperies/and some stuff I think you call bacon? mmm bacon. I dunno, yuo did more wandering around in that room than I did, what did you see?

There was a low lead that opened into a meandering canyon passage about 20 io 25 feet high by 4 to 6 feet wide, nice clean washed stream passage with scalloping on the walls. After a couple hundred feet it opened into a nice dome about 40 feet high with what looked like a good lead going off the top. I wonder if anbody has climbed it to see if it goes.

I think I heard that Clive McClimberson did make it up there once, and it was just a small passage that had boulders blocking the way on. :(

Did you check out the lead over on the opposite side? If you crawled through some boulders the right way it looked like there was a passage over there!
