It says that the fungus is a parasite that survives on the host. As with WNS, what is the trigger? Does it really matter if WNS is also 40 million years old?.

That's pretty incredible. Horrifying to see the animals affected like that. On the other hand, I've been fighting ants in my house for 3 years and think maybe I should acquire some of that fungus.
