Caves of California Book For Sale

Postby daj » Feb 7, 2010 7:57 am

I have an original Caves of California book #91 of this very rare 1962 William R. Halliday book for sale. Of the 500 copies of this book that were printed 48 years ago, 175 copies were lost in a "flood". A signed copy sold on this site about 5 years ago. Here is the link to that thread.

My copy is not signed but it is in excellent condition. I am asking $500 plus postage and insurance. I can send scans for serious inquires.

I noticed that the book was owned by Katherine St. Clair. She was an MMV member in St. Louis and passed away many years ago.

Yes, I found a Mrs. James St Clair listed in my 1970 NSS Members Manual. She was NSS #4840. I bought this book from a book store in Ferguson, MO two years ago.

Have you contacted Bill Halliday (see NSS Members Manual) to ask if he has anyone on a "waiting list"? If the book is legitimately rare enough to warrant an asking price of $400.00, then surely he's been contacted by people trying to acquire a copy.
