This is a Hardbound Book, 5.5 X 8.5, with a very nice Dust Jacket. "Wilderness Under The Earth" was written by Herbert W. Franke (1956) and this English Translation was printed in 1958 by The Scientific Book Club in London, England. I think the original version was in German. This book is 204 pages long and covers European caves. It has as few maps and graphs, but no photographs.
The chapters cover: First Experiences (caves, not sex), Methods and Equipment, Expedition to the Tots Gebirge, Origin and Development of Caves, Tantalhohle--The Most Difficult Cave in Europe, The Hall of Fantasy, Green Limestone Caves, Caves and the Specialists, Ice Caves, Expedition to the Geldloch, Prospects. Also has an Introduction, a Subject Index, and an Index to Place Names.
I'll start this book at $2. All subsequent bids must be in even dollar amounts. Postage in a padded mailer will be $3 additional. No International Shipments.
This auction starts today, Tuesday September 30 and ends in ten days on Friday, October 10 at 8:30 CDT.
Good luck !!!
