Wow. This is an old and interesting item.

GEO Magazine was a competitor with National Geographic: 8.5 X 11, slick, with great photos. This article, "The Rope" by Mitchell J. Shields with photos by Michael K. Nichols describes the World's Longest Rappel on Thor Peak on Baffin Island (Canada). The drop was 3,300 feet. All done by cavers, of course.

Quite a story, on pages 24-35, 110-111. Magazine is in NEW condition.
