Cave property for sale

Postby AraChiya » Jul 4, 2014 9:18 am

The Order of the Skywatcher Clan, under agreement with Marion County to honor its tax exemption as a 501c3, is forced to sell its two parcels of land SW of Belleview (near Lucky, Tucks, Roadside, Dragon's Lair and Fissure). Both parcels have cave entrances. We have been digging out the cave on the larger parcel and we intended to purchase the parcels on both roads until the county violated its agreements and started harassing, extorting and committing terrorist acts against us to get their taxes. Needless to say, even the attorney is apparently on the county's side and was fired. The access road has not been maintained for over 10 years. There has been illegal dumping. There are five known cave entrances along these roads, more are probably there. On the larger parcel there are two entrances, one opened, the other was being opened. Another forming on the west side where there is a dried up spring and river bed. The access parcel next to it, we have been cleaning to purchase, but we can not now, it is next to a sink and has three entrances forming to the same system. Across what is left of the road is a sink that is blowing air. On the 5 acre site to the sw is another entrance along the fence.
The smaller parcel is next to a home and has a forming entrance on the east side of the property. This system goes under the house and the entrance is across the street. Both parcels have owed taxes. We are asking only the amount we paid for them which is $6000 each, and you would have to pay the taxes (which as a 501c3 would be a tax deductible donation). If you would like the parcel numbers, location and see photos contact me at omegaltd158@juno.com or go to the TERRANAUT CORPS group on Face Book.

The current passage is being mapped and dangerous rock is being removed. The main passage is 60 feet and walking all the way to tthe back where continuing passage is filled with dirt and chert debris. Near the entrance are two passages filled with clay, midway there is what is called Cross Fissure, to the east there appears to be passage behind the wall, seen through small openings. To the west is a dirt filled passage with projections of rock which if removed could be walking passage. It has so far been cleared of 20 feet of dirt and some animal bones.
Anyone wishing to inspect the property can also contact me.

I assume you mean $60,000 not $6,000?

No. $6000 is what we paid for each parcel. Both parcels are slightly less than 1 acre. The larger parcel, where we are working, is where the cave was opened. The parcel that gives us access the the main parcel we were suppose to purchase for $3000, they now want $4500. We put up a gate to stop illegal dumping and when that parcel sells, if it sells, we will be taking our fencing. If only the county would stop behaving like fascists and just abide by their agreement to honor our tax exemption. They do not maintain the access road, which they tax for and put in writing they have no intention of clearing the road or the trash that was dumped unless they are paid to do so. They do not provide us with garbage pick up, when police were called over some trespassing and vandalism they ignored our call... so, agreement aside, if they are not going to provide services, why in hell should they get any taxes? But with the back taxes added (which can be considered a tax deductible donation), the price comes out to about $7500 for each parcel. But there are caves. Lots of caves... maybe one big system with many entrances... and a native American cure for cancers grows on the property and its not marijuana...

not trying to be mean or ugly, but you're not doing a good job selling your property by listing out how fraught with problems it seems to have.
$6000 is a nice price, but it sounds more like $12k of problems.

How much back-tax is owed? The new owner will likely be responsible for that as well.

I will send the site locations to a private email, there is a problem with even NSS members trespassing in the area caves, even when they were told that the property owners don't want any visitations to the caves.
As for not selling it well, I believe in complete and total honesty... after all, wouldn't you want to know the problems before buying anything instead of finding out about the problems after your purchase it? As for the taxes, at the moment the smaller parcel has $1200 plus or minus taxes owed on it, we just had a donation for the larger parcel taxes which was just over $1500, but now they will want 2013-2014 taxes which should be around $500-$1000. As a non profit charity we can consider the paying of the taxes a tax deductible donation which you can use on your taxes.
We really do not want to sell the parcels, but the corrupt county is giving us no choice.

We finished the map of the cave as it presently is, with at least 7 digable leads. We discovered the present floor is actually a layer of debris consisting of rocks, dirt and clay that is at least 3 feet thick. We are hoping to return on another expedition in two weeks.

There may be a donor for the smaller parcel's back taxes, the larger parcel with the open cave had it's back taxes paid, but that means the asking price goes up to $7500 for each parcel. If one is as dedicated as we were, you can purchase the parcel next to the .68 acre for vehicle access for $4500 (we will leave the gate for the price of purchasing a replacement). The smaller parcel is accessible by car about 150 feet from SE130 Street. The soil is falling into a fissure at the back of the property into the cave system that is under the next two parcels north. The entrance is almost across the 'street' from the house. I will provide a map of all the cave entrances we know of along this un maintained road to the person who is interested in these parcels. We did not explore most of the parcels but there is a change they are all one large system that may be bigger than Catacombs.

Go to the tribe's website at http://www.skywatcherclan.0catch.com and look at the newsletters to see photos of work at the cave and some images of the property and connecting property.

Considering this was a "for sale" post, why are you "...no longer an NSS member," just out of curiosity?
