Good luck. KMIII is a great handling rope but they have a mixed reputation in cave environments. Black is also probably the least desirable color underground. 1/2" is also a tough sell especially with the new Petzl ascenders, but it does make for stout handlines or an extra beefy fixed line I own a lot of rope, including KMIII and KMIII max, and for knots or surface work they are very nice ropes.

I just checked out the new Petzl ascenders. The stainless steel parts are a nice improvement. With a max rope diameter of 11mm, I wonder if 11mm ropes will feed with some resistance like 13mm ropes through the old ascenders?

there are a couple threads on the new ascenders. 11mm rope is not all the same diameter amazingly :) CMC rope tends to be beefier than say PETZL or PMI EZ bend. Apparently an average 11mm even with some mud will feed O.K. but a heavily muddied rope may well present issues.
