Year-End Contributions and Gift Ideas to Support the SCCi!

A post to another thread prompted me to list some of the ways that cavers can make year-end contributions or holiday gifts to their loved ones in support of the Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc. (SCCi). As it was somewhat off-topic, I decided to start a new thread here (mods, if this is inappropriate for this forum, please move it wherever it needs to go!).

The SCCi would love to buy more classic southeastern U.S. caves, but we need the help of lots of our fellow cavers to do so. We're currently working on paying off a pretty big debt incurred when we purchased an 80-acre parcel containing the Surprise Pit (technically "Fern Sink") Entrance, as well as the bulk of the underlying passage, of Fern Cave, as well as an Alabama "Hidden Gem" called Steward Spring Cave. We also have several fairly expensive leases on caves that we are hoping to someday purchase, including the Tumbling Rock and Sinking Cove Cave Preserves.

It's never been easier to make a year-end contribution to help the SCCi pay for these caves and to buy more classic southeastern U.S. caves. The SCCi is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS rules for charitable contributions! You can:

- Sign up to be a Sustaining Member here. Once you get set up, we will charge your credit card an amount and frequency of your choice (at least $10 if monthly or $25 if quarterly), and you can increase, decrease or stop your recurring donations at any time.

- Make a secure on-line donation by clicking the "Donate" button on the left side of the SCCi web site or just by clicking here.

- Bookmark this link - and use it every time you shop at Amazon.com. It's easy, and it costs you nothing. Each time you go to Amazon.com using this link, the SCCi receives a donation from Amazon.com of up to 5% of the purchase total! If you lose this link, just go to the SCCi.org home page and click on the Amazon.com icon on the left side of the page.

- For an awesome caver gift, consider purchasing an honorary section, named feature, or pit slice of an SCCi cave in their name. Check out our Buy a Piece of the Cave page to find out more about our current programs. In addition to getting their name featured on our on-line and printed donor maps, your loved one will receive official SCCi Certificate of Honorary Ownership, suitable for framing! To confirm the availability of a particular named cave feature or surface plot, be sure to contact fundraising@SCCi.org, as these are one-of-a kind features - once they're "sold", they're gone forever!

- Include the SCCi in your estate plan. For more information on planned giving, see here.

- Send us a check through snail mail to:
Southeastern Cave Conservancy, Inc.
PO Box 71857
Chattanooga TN 37407-0857

Thank you to everyone who has supported the SCCi! As a result of generous contributions from cavers like you, we now own or lease 64 caves on 27 preserves, covering 1,453 acres in six states. Our owned-land value now exceeds $1.7 million!

Cavers rock! :banana_yay:  :kewl:
