Concern over rabid bats prompts statewide warning

A high number of rabid bats were found in Kansas City this summer, which helped prompt Missouri officials Tuesday to issue a statewide health warning about rabies.

So far, 10 bats have tested positive for rabies, said Gerald Hoff, epidemiologist for the Kansas City Health Department.
