WIN A TRIP TO THE 2009 SERA CAVE CARNIVAL

Hey Cavers,

Still not sure about attending the upcoming SERA Cave Carnival being held May 28-31 in northwest Georgia? Waiting to the last minute to register? Well maybe this will convince you....

In addition to the entertainment, bands, MardiCrawl parade, caving-oriented activities, contests, musical entertainment, 14 different vendors, fellowship, and awesome location, here is another reason to send in your registration form today.

For event registrations that have already been received and those postmarked by April 30, you are automatically entered into a drawing for a $58 gas card that you can use to travel to and from the event. We will announce the winner on May 10 and mail the gas card prior to the event. Why $58 dollar you ask. Well, this is the 58th Annual SERA Summer Caver Carnival.

Registration forms are available here:

Congratulations to Bill Stringfellow of Woodstock, Georgia who won the drawing for his travel to be covered to/from SERA with a $58 gas card.

We hope to see all of you at the SERA Cave Carnival being held from May 28-31 in Walker County, Georgia.

Thanks to all those who attended the 2009 SERA Summer Cave Carnival. We had a fun and successful event with around 550 attendees, 16 different vendors, almost 100 door prizes, and lots of information available on White Nose Syndrome. We had winners in the 5K road race, blindfolded rope climb, vertical climbing contest, Win Your Weight in Beer, plus we got to watch the Burning Cave Man, Saturday night some great caver musicians on Friday night. Additionally, some people went caving.

With the success, we are able to donate $1,500 of the proceeds to the Southeastern Cave Conservancy. This is in addition to the money that the SCCi directly raised during the weekend.

Glad everyone had a good time. We had great weather!
