Does anybody know the exact dates of the 2009 SERA Cave Carnival?

Thanks.

I had some problems hearing some of the speakers on stage at the Cave-In but I think there was an announcement from the Nashville Grotto that they will be hosting SERA but did not have the date or location finalized. They said something about their website should be up soon.

Maybe no one from Nashville Grotto is reading these posts OR maybe they haven't finalized the dates yet.

Sorry for not responding immediately. We are working out final details and will hopefully have the site selected within the next week. We have two great locations and want to have all the details worked out prior to announcing the site.

Regardless of the site, we will be having the event on the weekend of Thursday - Sunday, May 28-31.

p.s. For those keeping score. Speleofest, which takes place in Kentucy, is the weekend prior (Memorial Day weekend).

Thanks John - I think the main thing folks wanted now was a date. Lots of us unfortunately have to plan time off well in advance due to our job's inflexibility with scheuduling.

Not meaning to sound negative because I've been on the planning end in the past and sometimes the location dictates when the event can be held but I guess this year, once again, lots of folks will have to make a choice of whether they will attend Speleofest or SERA Cave Carnival. . . some of us unfortunately can't afford to take time off to do back-to-back weekends of caving events. Now if you have a truly awesome site that may cause people to choose your event. Wish I could not work and be a professional cave event attendee. :woohoo: :kewl:
