Was it me or did it die down pretty early Saturday night? I turned in before the band finished their second set, and it seemed like when they were done, everyone went straight to bed! It was pretty quiet all night long.

Not that I'm complaining about it!! I liked not being woke up by the stray carbide bomb or hollering.

I went over to take a shower at 4:30 am and there was still a group up on the stage.

According to Sleaze the band said something at the close of their set that he inferred to mean that the cops told them they couldn't play anymore. They stopped at midnight. Last year the band stopped around 2 AM.

We were in the SCCi tent for quite a while after midnight. And just cuz it's so rare, here's a picture of Marion O. Smith smiling in the SCCi tent: http://www.flickr.com/photos/51521695@N00/2940368202/.

That's interesting. I could hear the guy talking after the set, but I was almost at my campsite and couldn't understand what he was saying. I figured he was pulling the old bail-out line "I can't sing anymore".

Well if they're going to make the music stop early, they need to crank up the band earlier to get the money's worth out of the show!

We left at around 1am and the band had just quit playing. I seen the local cop come up about 1/2 hour before. I tought we were being pretty good for a crowd that big. Well most of us anyways.

We had a blast at the Cave In this year. My photo of Buggy Top Cave won 2nd place, Chuck and Robbie tied for 1st place in their age group for the Rope Climbing Contest at 47.6 seconds, Robbie found a new pit when we went on a trip to Raulstons with Cave Rat, and we checked out some of the pits on Procession Mountain near Scottsboro, Alabama.

I guess I am not the only one who got the urge to wear my helmet in camp to keep from getting bonked by an acorn :yikes:

There were some serious acorn showers in our area.

This was my first time caving in TAG and my first time at the Cave-in and I had a great time, except that somehow I managed to loose one of my ascenders, probably at the top of Neversink after climbing out around dusk on Saturday.
If anyone found a croll at Neversink on Sunday and wants to be really cool and return it to me I'd greatly appreciate it!
Even with loosing some gear, I had a great weekend and I can't wait to get back down there.

You could hear them falling hitting branches and leaves, and we'd yell 'in coming' and take cover. We joked that it was like the fire swamp in the Princess Bride giving a warning before they hit. Luckily we had no serious acorn vs head injuries in our camp.

We were also over taken by yellow jackets a couple times while trying to eat, but they weren't aggressive so we all got along
