In the MANY trips to the site to check things out, we only saw ONE train. We even asked the staff at the Moose about it and were told that train traffic past there was very low.

Train? There was one?

Yes, a very nice VAR. Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. I thought Phil Lucas's slide show and video were awesome!

Truly a great time. Many thanks to all who took part in making it happen.

The presentation by Phil Lucas was great. Entertaining and informative. A small flood, lol...

Kudos to Mark for the great trip to Marshall Cave and Aqua cave. Hmpf, nothing to see. I would sure love to see a cave that you think has stuff then :).

Choo choo!

I was speaking with a gentleman last Thursday here in Lewisburg and I mentioned that I had been camping in Covington the weekend before. That gentleman stated that the groundskeeper of the Moose Lodge was telling everyone that the cavers left his grounds cleaner than any other group that ever used their facilities. Based on the number of scout banners that were hanging in the pavilion, that is quite a compliment.

Thanks to all the VAR attendees that made this compliment possible. And of course, thanks to Pond Lady, Blue Ridge Grotto and James River Grotto. You all did a great job.

Jep.

Re: 2008 Fall VAR - Lost and found?

Postby HitekHomeless » Nov 11, 2008 9:07 am

Did you lose something? Otherwise, I don't want to know what my truck did to receive beads. This little guy is looking for it's home. I woke up on last day of var and found it on my CB antennae.
