2007 congress of grottos news

the 2006 COG report has been posted at http://www.caves.org/nss-business/congress.html

the agenda for the 07 meeting should be up by wed 7-18

there are currently 2 motions, which will also be provided with further detail.

one urging grottos to create the position landowner liaison

one urging the position of conservation chairman to coordinate with regional conservancies

While I don't feel quite as strongly as cob I'm confused as to why someone thinks it should be "legislated". :question: Perhaps some grottos need a landowner liason but don't think it is always necessary. Is it maybe a regional thing? I'll be interested to see more details on why someone thinks this is necessary.

The one about the conservancies is also a bit of a stretch to me. Sometimes things can be more easily accomplished "solo" . Conservancies are a good thing and I support them but often a "grotto project" is easier to "pull off". . . less "red tape"
