Cumberland Caverns Christmas Party

Postby Larry E. Matthews » Oct 14, 2005 9:02 am

The Cumberland Caverns Christmas Party will be on December 10 this year. It got so popular for a while, with 600+ people showing up, that Roy Davis had to limit the number of registrations to 500.

This year's party, 2005, will be the 45th Annual Cumberland Caverns Christmas Party. Attendance has dropped off the past few years and it was only about 250 last year, so it should be easy to get a ticket if you want to come.

For information on tickets, email Cumberland Caverns at:

I wish I could go. I attended one in the early 80s with a bunch from Huntsville and it remains one of the most memorable events of my life. Roy throws a great party and we got to go caving, too.

I was invited to the 2001 Christmas Party at Cumberland Caverns and really enjoyed it. I don't know if they do it every year, but that year Roy had a local highschool choral group in as guests. They each dressed in white and carried a candle and approached the chandalier room singing In Excelcis Deo and there were no other lights on in the area. It sent shivers down my spine.

Hey Phil Winkler. I think there are plenty of tickets left. Just email Cumberland Caverns at:

info@cumberlandcaverns.com

They can send you an application by email.

They have a local High School choir perform every year. It is great listening to the Christmas Carols by candlelight underground.
