Spring 2007 MVOR

Postby AshleyRose914 » Dec 4, 2006 7:43 pm

:waving: Hi Guys!

This MVOR will be held by Ozark Highlands Grotto on May 4th, 5th, and 6th. It will be located on Cow Creek on Table Rock Lake. There's going to be lots of great caves offered in both Missouri and Arkansas, and lots of other great activities such as a speleo-olympics ($500 cash prize to winning grotto and cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd) :kewl: , a rock climbing wall, and great vendors. And of course, we will have great door prizes. We will have a live band on Friday night, and a dj on Saturday night, both provided by our local classic rock station, 104.7 "The Cave". We will also try something new with our food choices this time, having a taco howdy party (the theme of this MVOR is "Crossing the Border"), and a pizza banquet. This is going to be a party that you won't want to miss!!!

Any questions? email me at OHG_MVOR07@yahoo.com! :woohoo:

I’m also interested in more detail.

I’m a lover of Mexican food, but I always thought there is something fundamentally wrong with serving it to cavers. I hope the meal is post-caving trips. Carbide anyone :flamed:

Sort like the all-you-can-eat chili wagon at the '88 NSS Hot Springs Convention, Oh ... that brought tears to my eyes!

Ashely, remind me to pay you at the February meeting!!

Oh yeah, and of course you all can count on me for help with the MVOR itself. If you need anything from the library (leads and such) let me know.

Hey Evan,

Don't know how familiar you are with Missouri caving, but this is an MVOR you would want to hit. Our grotto is known for its MVOR hosting (I missed that when I was in Santa Fe), and the location will be prime caving country. Just assume you're going to get muddy. We don't believe in clean caving here. :exactly:

Got the email and emailed you back. :waving:

Are you planning on going to the NSS Convention this year in Indiana? I'm trying to decide if I want to go to this one, since it's close. I definitely need to go to the 2009 Convention in Texas.

Great caving--sure. Fine fellowship. But the food???

I'm brown bagging this MVOR, though I usually am lazy and do banquet. Pizza? Ick. I'm gonna have real food.
