Regarding caving opportunities, there will be plenty! Bring your vertical gear, wet suits, and any other gear you have. We can take you through multi-drops, muddy crawlways, or raging underground rivers where you'll have to swim (and your feet won't feel bottom). The deepest known single in-cave pit is around 140' so there's no need to pack 600' ropes. Bring the shorter ones. The pits are not as deep as those in TAG, but there's a lot of them and they can be a lot of fun.

As caverd says, there are plenty of caves in Indiana, over 3100 of them. There are pits and plenty of wet and muddy stuff. There are probably well over a 1000 of them within 20 minutes of the convention site.[/quote]

Heck, some of them you can even stand up in! Right Bruce? :-)

Seriously, I lived in Indiana for over 10 years. I caved almost every single weekend during that time. The caves are very diverse. We have something for eveyone at every experience level. You want hard core..... just bottom Two Bit Pit with Danny. (I never would...) Some nice open air shafts as well, granted, no single drop is over 150 feet deep, but they are very scenic nonetheless.

Oh yea Scott, you can stand up, at least the caves around the convention site. Now, if you went to the east side of the state, you'd be in low wet, muddy crawls. Fun stuff!

Aw c'mon Bruce, they aint all that bad out east! There's a good bit of walking passage. Ya just gotta do several caves to make a day of it. As for the mud...we soaked up most of it on the survey trips!

Brian is right, there is plenty of walking stuff on the east. And yea, we do make the passages bigger each time we go.

I wonder if there will be any convention trips to the east side?

I imagine I'll be asked to lead a trip or two over there so my guess would be yes. I'll be talking to Bob V about it soon.
