Pdf problems

Postby KENTO » Jul 11, 2007 9:26 am

Well, I never had a crash quite that bad, but things have been running smoothly on my DSL Win/XP/Pro configuration here at home since my wife downloaded the latest Adobe reader. Did you have any specific q&a you were needing caverdale...? Maybe I could fax you a copy of the 3 pages or I could save you a copy from my home printer to tuck in your guidebook with the rest of them when we meet up at convention.
Fyi Wayne , I have created my little Caveman sticker and will listen to Channel 3, Thanks for all inputs everybody, see you soon.

I think it was decided that someone was going to bring a "banner" to the howdy party to identify a gathering place for cavechatters to meet and greet.

Is that correct Wayne? or anyone?

Check with some of us "locals" when you get there. Once you tell us what you're in the mood for, we'll point you in the right direction. Hell, we might even go with you. I'll be there in time for the noon opening on Saturday.

Update on gas prices. If you are driving to Convention from the west via I64, the best deal for gas in Indiana along I64 is just north of Evansville at the intersection of I64 and US41 (exit 25). There are 3 stations on the north side of the exit that are at $2.75/gallon today (Thursday, 7/19). You are unlikely to find it for any less than this along this route.

I was there Saturday through Sunday morning. We did three caves, two on Saturday, one Sunday morning. We did a bunch of swimming Saturday morning in Sinking Creek cave. Saturday afternoon, we took some new cavers to Langdon's. Sunday we visited Old Town Spring Cave....some very nice formations here. Unfortunately, I had to head for home because I have to work this week. I might stop back by on Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Margaret and I hooked up with Scott and his friends and went into Breathing Hole Cave. The guidebook says "there is a tight vertical squeez between the entrance and the river passage that may filter out larger cavers." Margaret, Scott, and Josh made it through the squeeze. I got everything through but my head but decided not to continue, as I was concerned about getting back out (working against gravity) so I and the three other cavers who didn't make it either hiked to nearby Wildcat cave (we thought) but it didn't seem like the description of Wildcat and when we got back to the vehicles I checked the GPS co-ordinates and found we were in an unnamed cave about 80 feet or so from the Wildcat entrance.

Here's a shot of Scott in Breathing Hole at the spot where it ends:

Here's the shot of me that Margaret took as I tried to negotiate the squeeze through through the breakdown:

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the Howdy Party was held tonight:

While in the beer line I ran across Indiana Jones aka David Strickland (apparently a two-fisted drinker):

It's a great convention so far and the weather has been fantastic.
