Texas cavers are pleased to announce that the 2021 National Cave and Karst Management Symposium (NCKMS 2021) will be held November 1st through 5th in San Marcos, TX, part of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Featuring Dale Pate, NPS National Cave and Karst Program Coordinator from 2007 to 2017 and Cave Specialist for Carlsbad Caverns National Park from 1991 to 2002, as speaker at the banquet. Learn about “Endangered Species, Endangered Caves, Endangered Aquifers.” Special events include the Monday Social and glass-bottom boat tour of Spring Lake, where karst waters well up from San Marcos Springs to form the head of the San Marcos River, a special access tour of nearby Natural Bridge Caverns, site of the Tuesday Howdy Party, and field trips all day on Wednesday.
