MayaCon 2012 movie now on line

Postby Jep » Aug 29, 2011 10:04 am

Okay folks. The full length movie is now linked to our website. Go to http://www.caves.org and click on the link to the 2012 NSS Convention.

I think the promo plays best from the web site, but to see the full length movie to start working on clues, go to the link provided on our main page. And don't forget to listen to the song. There are clues there too.

We will be mailing copies of the promo DVD after OTR to internal organizations affiliated with the NSS.

If you know of some other organization that would like a copy, please let us know.

Or click on this link that goes directly to the convention website:

Fun video! So, is there a scavenger hunt associated with convention?

Absolutely. There are 13 crystal skulls that were "scattered" over the Greenbrier Valley when Dr. Roberta Handley crashed in the 1940's. We'll be giving clues out in the movie, in the great song that was written by Marian McConnell as sung by Dan McConnell, on Jane and Dr. Bubba's facebook pages, in the convention Daily Rag and by Twitter, for those of you that can do Twitter.

There will be only 2 or 3 skulls placed on any one day and the actual details are being worked out as we speak. It'll give everyone a chance to see the wonderful karst features throughout the valley from Monroe County up the Route 219 corridor to southern Pocahontas County.

On the final day, after the banquet, we will be having a celebration of the beginning of the next B'ak'tun. More details to follow.

Don't know what B'ak'tun means? Hopefully by the end of MayaCon 2012 you will know.

See you all at OTR, MAR, VAR and TAG.

Here is a hint. There are four Maya attibutes, Fire, Earth, Water and Air. Only three skulls will be placed at any one attribute.
