I VERY much want to do a bike ride, so it is good to know at least some of the bike trails are open.
We came back through Vail Pass after the 1996 CO Convention, and I rode that bike trail east to Dillon Lake. That was a wild ride, FLYING down the many turns. A cow elk got up and ran next to me for about a mile. She was in heavy brush and I was on the pavement. She was only about 150 feet away and we were neck-and-neck most of the way. I REALLY had to keep an eye on her, but then she turned up a side hollow and left me to myself.
I can't remember how far I rode, but it was certainly a record for distance covered in a short amount of time, as that trail really goes downhill. It was a GREAT ride. It was also very early in the morning, and freezing-ass cold.

I suggested the same idea for one of the previous conventions, and got laughed off the forum.
But yeah, we should totally do it.
