Just to clarify, the event is being held at the campground owned by Maureen, "Caver's Paradise". The campground is adjacent to her property.
the address is 482 Wildheart Lane, Sewanee, Marion County, TN. That is where registration will be, vendors, much of the camping, band, etc. some camping will be on her personal property, but accessable from the campground. If you know where Maureen lives, please don't show up in her driveway. We will be posting signs to take you to the campground.

Chrys, the reason I posted is I keep seeing references in other places about "Monteagle Mountain" as the location. To me that is confusing. Maureen's property (both her house and campground) is on the Orme Quad Topo and located between the head of Nancy Winn Cove and the head of Collins Cove.

BTW, Some registration forms have been distributed with Maureen's home address also. Attendees looking at cave locations on a topo map of the area need to note that caves on the Franklin State Forest are still closed.

Martha, I understand the confusion. A few preliminary registration forms were distributed at the SERA WBM on Saturday, before we met at the site with Maureen on Sunday. At that time we realized that the event will be mostly on the campground and that it had a seperate address. The final draft of the form is completed and will be posted on the SERA website with the correct address for the campground. Maureen's driveway will be gated and signage will direct attendees around to the campground. Sorry for any confusion.
Both the Guidebook and the Cave Info booth will address the cave closure issue.

WOO I have a carpool with Sai, who has caved up north with me (joined the MKC last summer when I did), I think he did something in KY once too. He wants to cave more though, and he lives like 20 min south of me, and so far none of the SJVG trips have been at a good time for him BUT he is free for SERA. He asked if there was caving there. Uh I think he dunno what TAG has yet, ha! Umm...yesssss....if we plan right should get a trip Fri, Sat, and Sun too I'd think! so he's excited to get to cave again, and I have a carpool buddy for basically the entire drive.

LOOK OUT SERA HERE I COMEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Please note, a previous post that it was on April 16th and 17th was incorrect, the date had to be changed..

A few people asked for directions/coordinates to the site... Below is a post made by Maureen with all the details...

SERA will be fast upon us!! We have scheduled 2 work weekends to get 'Cavers
Paradise' ready to host 200+ people.

The weekends have been scheduled for April 23 and May 14. The first weekend
will be infrastructure work. Installing some extra power at the campground,
constructing the field showers, pulling wire and powering up the barn, plus some
spa area improvements. There is a great sauna and hot tub already working on
the property and they will both be up and running for the work weekends. So if
you have electrical, plumbing or carpentry skills and tools, we need YOU!

The second work weekend will mostly be clearing campsites. This will entail
moving some deadfall and cutting briar. Anyone who comes up to work on either
day, will be able to 'claim' a camping spot for the SERA weekend.

So, come up and join us, check out the site, hang out with cavers for the
weekend and have fun!!

coordinates for the campground are 35 06 44 and 85 49 34

Directions are as follows:

To get to the campground from the east, go west on I24, exit 143, Martin
Springs. Go left at the top of the ramp over the highway then left again onto
Co Rd 2. Go 2 miles and turn right onto Stagecoach Rd. There is no street
sign, but there is a realtor sign for bluff lots at Fish Trap. Go 4.5 miles to
the top of the mountain. Stay right on Stagecoach at the top. DO NOT turn down
Jackson Point Rd. Go 1 more mile and turn left onto old Sewanee Rd. The street
name is painted on a rock at the street corner. It is the first paved road on
the right after you pass Jackson Point. Go 0.9 miles and turn right onto
Wildheart Lane. Go to the end of the road then turn right and right again into
the campground.

To get to the campground from the west, go east on I24, exit 134, Monteagle.
Turn south toward Sewanee. Go 4 miles and turn left onto RT 156 at the yellow
flashing light. Follow 156 (zig zag around the Sewanee Airport) for 7 miles.
Turn left onto Snakepond Road. There is no sign here, but there is a large
horse farm on the left. If you get to the Franklin State Forest, you went 1/4
mile too far. Go 3/4 mile on Snakepond and turn right onto Stagecoach Road. Go
1.25 miles and turn right onto Old Sewanee Rd. Go 0.9 miles and turn right onto
Wildheart Lane. Go to the end of the road then turn right and right again into
the campground.

If you get lost, feel free to call me at 423-605-5569

Yes Amy, I will be leading a trip on Saturday. Since my 9 year old daughter will be with me I am leading a kid friendly trip to nearby Bible Springs. Last year during Pupfest we had 8 girls ranging in age from 6-12 on a trip to Whiteside Cave. The kids actually out numbered the adults... and it was a lot of fun. You are more than welcome to join us. Bible Springs is a wet cave so it should feel perfect in June...!

I'm leading a trip to Signal Light Pit Friday morning at 10am.
This is a vertical trip with a 65 foot entrance pit and a couple of miles of cave at the bottom.

There will also be a Climbing Competition held Saturday morning!!
Because it will be June (hot) we are going to stay simple for this SERA.
30 meters will be the limit for the climb.

PM me if you have any questions or suggestions.
