Cave Capers 2010

Postby irhxcbcziuzxs » Apr 21, 2010 6:05 pm

Is there any way to get information on the upcoming cave capers beyond that of the site, I tried calling Ron but he has not returned my phone calls.

have you seen this?...

Hello Cavers!
The Central Indiana Grotto invites cavers to join us for the 57th
annual Cave Capers, June 25th – 27th at Delaney Park, near Scottsburg,
Indiana. Delaney Park is centrally located to many classic privately
owned caves, so plan to get underground (and then decontaminating).
Beautiful Delaney Park was the site of the 1992 NSS Convention as well
as the 50th and other Cave Capers, and has always been a preferred
site for caving events.
Delaney Park boasts a beautiful lake with a beach, boat rental,
fishing (IN fishing license req.) and you may launch your own small
watercraft for a $2 fee. Cabins and modern RV hookups are available
and can be booked directly with the park. Go to www.delaneypark.com or
call (812) 883-5101 for details and reservations. Capers registration
includes park gate fees, camping, and swimming during lifeguard hours
at the beach (11am to 7pm). The Knobstone Trail (hikers only) is
Indiana’s longest at 58 miles, has a trailhead in the camping area and
is rugged with 500ft high hills and bluffs.
Registration opens at noon Friday (please don’t arrive before noon).
The campground has several shady areas for comfortable tent camping
along with large open spaces. Shop for gear all weekend from Inner
Mountain Outfitters! IMO is one of the top caving gear vendors in
the US, specializing in vertical caving hardware, along with standard
gear.

Friday night, socialize and enjoy an open acoustic jam, bring guitars
(can be electric) and instruments. We are working to attract some
special musical guests. The restaurant in the park serves an all you
can eat fish dinner on Friday night, and will be open for breakfast,
lunch, and dinner all weekend.

Saturday morning, the park will be serving breakfast (for a fee, and
Sunday too!), volunteer-led cave trips and “go on your own with
directions” excursions to some of Indiana’s finest caves will be
happening. Or attend the vertical training workshop, bring gear if
possible, A limited few sets will be supplied.
Saturday evening will feature an on-site, cookout of burgers, brats,
veggie burgers, potato, vegetable, roll, drink, and dessert. Our
entertainment for the evening will include door prizes and our
presentation by Gary Roberson and Dave Everton on the Binkley Cave
System.
This is a Washington County Park, no fireworks and please be discrete
with your adult beverage. Pets are allowed in the park (not in
cabins) and must be kept on a leash, mini bikes are prohibited.
Please visit www.cavecapers.com to download and print a
Pre-registration form. Forms must be received by June 4th for pre-reg
discounts... register now and save $$$$

Yes, I have seen that, but I had additional questions. Seems the pre registration form is up on the other website now. It wasn't there before.
