I've been getting involved in wikipedia recently (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page) in, of all things, North American migrations.
Anyway, looking around wikipedia (that's a good way to kill several hours), I've noticed a dearth of caving information. There are a lot of stubs out there (very brief definitions). A few of them are:
the NSS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_S ... al_Society
speleology
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speleology
speloethems
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speleothem
(its not a stub, but it can defiantely be expanded)
karst has a bunch of info, but it's always worth looking over and tweaking:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karst
sinkholes
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinkhole
cave rescue
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_rescue
And there's more - with several articles that do not even have entries yet.
The great thing about wikipedia is that anyone can edit it, which means that you can go in there over Thanksgiving and tweak the information right away. Amazingly, there is less sabotage and mischief than you would expect with this format - I doubt that once changed, the entries would be disturbed.
I think on this board alone we have enough brainpower and knowledge to fill in most, if not all of those articles. We should collectively take this up as a project!
