New to Caving
Posted: May 25, 2021 11:14 amHi guys! I'm Sarah and from Tennessee. I'm 21 and super new to caving. I tried to shoot an email to a couple local grottos but I didn't really get a reply. That's fine, though, I know email can be tricky.
I was wondering if y'all could give me a few pointers on this? What sorts of gear do I need? How do I start out caving in general? I've backpacked, hiked, I'm an avid rock climber but going into caves is completely new to me.
If anyone is in the Smoky Mountain Grotto or East Tennessee Grotto or knows how to get into contact with them please let me know! I'd love to join. : )
