is the forum dead, or is the forum just lacking new posts? Check out the details of these JUNE 2018 postings. See how many views they have? (over 3900 for one and over 1400 for the other)

What say you? :yikes:

I check this Forum at least once every few days so I would say it is postings and not lack of interest by a long shot. I originally came here with a question regarding any strange footprints in or leading up to caves or any other anomalies related to animal presence. I still look here to see if there are any comments concerning such things. You guys are still tops and I have absorbed a lot of great tips and info even though spelunking is not an activity I pursue.

Just doing further research beyond what is here on bats has been very rewarding along with another topic I initiated on cave acoustics both inside and outside of a cave. Also reading about the finds in South Africa regarding the Naledi remains in the Rising Star Cave has given me a newfound respect and admiration for what you folks do. Be safe!

We're not dead. But we do lack a lot of post. I think people find other ways to get their info. Like Facebook, or grotto meetings, or wherever. I do think CaveChat has a purpose though and I would love to see it more active!

I have to say I like your signature line. I am surrounded by such people constantly and somehow seem to fit right in LOL.

Not dead, just slumbering.

Note that one of those topics you mentioned was started in January this year, not June. So 3900 page hits is not all that unusual in a 6 month period. This also includes many different search engines ("bots") that crawl the forum every day, in addition to some of us moderators and other folks who read posts regularly but perhaps have less time or motivation to post as much as they used to. Or something like that.
