Road trip caves

Postby tmazanec1 » Aug 22, 2017 2:24 pm

Next year me, my cousin and his wife are planning a road trip from NE Ohio to Yellowstone National Park, and then possibly to California, and back. We plan to see roadside attractions on the way.
What caves could we easily see on this trip?

Check out this website:

I pulled up the midwest for you. You can navigate around and check out the west, too. You can't go wrong with Jewel Cave. Wind Cave isn't as "pretty," but it's pretty awesome in its own way.

If you are near Salt Lake City, see Timpanagos which is South of SLC. I don't think you were at Convention in Ely so Lehman Caves in Nevada is worth seeing. In short, there are a lot of National Park and state park caves worth a look-see.

A detour to South Dakota would be worthwhile to visit Wind Cave and Jewel Cave National Monuments.
