For a lost cavegate key in eastern Kentucky.
Caveowner requested - and will be present.

Will probably need to delay until end of hibernation......

Don't want to make too much out of this Howard, but I've had two instances where 1) lost a key going to a locked cave in Nevada, hear where the 2016 Convention is supposed to be; and, 2) where we forgot the key to a cave that we managed and one of the guys asked one of the girls if she had a bobby pin, which he used to open the lock with, so...the second one might be a possibility.

yep - thats pretty much the guy I am looking for
I could try, but I am sure I would get frustrated, the bobbypin would get muddy, and the lock would just enjoy it.........

Howard, that's no way to treat a landowner! Don't make the poor guy hibernate, get him out of that locked cave as soon as possible!

:rofl:

I find it hard to believe you found a girl with a bobby pin. Was she 80 years old? ;-}

Oh, woe! Oh, woe! A guy with no faith and little substance in believing, 'eh? This was back in the seventies--not an eighty-year old. but a smart female caver who gathered her hair in a bandana and pinned it, before putting her helmet on. ! I have the plaque, sitting on my book shelf right in back of me with the bobby pin on it, along with an NSS sticker and the saying "Master Key to Windeler Cave presented to Ernie Coffman, 21 June 1973." It's on a block of wood that measures 5-3/4"x9"x1-3/4s" and if you come west, I'll show it to you! Believe, baby, believe! It was put together in fun and humor by Stan Ulfeldt, who used to be the General of Liliburn Cave down in California.
