Tumbling Rock Cave map...???

I know there is a pretty nice map of Tumbling Rock out there because I have seen it. But the ACS map index for TRC is a very old map. Does anyone have a copy of a newer, more detailed map they could send me?

Are you looking for the ultra-detailed Kambesis map or a more general use in the cave map?

I would love to get my hands on a detailed map. I have a wall in my downstairs that is decorated with cave maps and it really needs a TR map.

That sounds like a cool idea decorating your downstairs walls with cave maps. That would be even cooler if some of those maps you surveyed and mapped yourself. Did you help make any of the maps that you have on your wall, graveleye?

I used to have maps on my wall that I had drawn. That didn't last long as I would rather pull tape or shoot compass than sketch and draft..

Then it became project caves that I had worked on. :cavingrocks:

Then it became "neat" or interesting maps.... (Mammoth, Jewel, Wind, come to mind specifically)

Maybe post maps of caves on your bucket list? :woohoo:

I started caving later in life and haven't had a chance yet to do any surveying, primarily because at my age I'm just trying to catch up on plain and simple caving.
Another reason to encourage young people to get into caving while they still have a chance to "do it all".

I just have a long wall in a hallway of my basement that I put up cave map and some cool caving posters. Most of the caves I have been in. I've only put up the full size ones that I can get my hands on.

I am surprised that you say that you started caving later in life since you are a Moderator here on Cave Chat which would make me think that you had been caving for a long time.

I started caving in 2006/2007 and immediately joined Cave Chat. I was around 40 then. Did some caving as a teen but it was all "cap and candle"... nothing organized. Didn't do any more caving for 20+ years. There was a personnel shakeup on Cave Chat and they needed a couple more mods so I offered my services. I was on everyday anyway, and knew a bit about social media moderating and computers so they hired me. I have to admit that I haven't had a raise in years and could really use one :caver:

Ahem, your cave map was emailed this morning as promised. :woohoo: Therefore, I think we can consider that your "2015" bonus/raise, right?  :big grin:

got it, and many thanks to you sir!

Now I need to figure out how to print it up on a big piece of paper to adorn the walls of my man-cave.
I know an engineer who has a plotter... I wonder if it could be done on that?

Sure. Just photoshop the pieces together, or print them all 11 x 17 and literally "cut and paste"

Upload the large file to a photography print bureau like myphotopipe.com. They will ship it to you rolled in a tube. A 16x20 or 20x24 print isn't very expensive.
