If anyone can find a reference to the exact location, I would love to see what this looks like on Google Maps before the collapse. I just can't find a good enough location.

Does anyone have any record or know of an NSS issue that features the exploration of a geological area this young?

Its in Russia, Its in the Permafrost, what if the permafrost is melting underneath and formed a river and it simply kept caving in... hmm interesting and i bet we will never learn anything about it.

Hawaii has lava tubes that are solid, but still hot from the cooling magma. I surveyed in one several years ago that was about 86 degrees F.

That doesn't explain why there's a raised rim of irregular, disturbed earth around the craters.
